Adopting the Pyramid Model Program-Wide Training is for agencies and programs committed to increasing the use of evidenced-based, social emotional early childhood practices in early care and education settings. Program-wide Implementation involves the program-wide adoption of the Pyramid Model’s tiered model of practices and procedures for providing support to children and families. It assumes that most if not all program staff have had, at minimum, Foundations of the Pyramid Model training. It also assumes that there is a Pyramid Model Coach available to work with the program.
The Pyramid Model’s tiered model includes:
- The first tier, universal practices, promotes the social development and engagement of all children.
- The second tier involves providing targeted children who have risk factors or behavioral problems with more focused instruction on social emotional skills.
- The final tier includes a process for the provision of intensive and individualized behavior support plans for the few children who are already engaged in patterns of challenging behavior.
This two-day training takes program staff through a guided, step-by-step process necessary for program-wide implementation. It is appropriate and recommended only for Massachusetts programs with staff and leadership who have already participated in Train-the-Trainer, Train-the-Coach and Foundations Training and who are ready to implement the Pyramid Model “to scale” in their agency, program and/or classrooms.
Program-wide Implementation training opportunities are posted on the Training Calendar as they become available. If you would like more information about organizing a Program-wide Implementation training event for your program, agency or community, please contact us.
