Connected Beginnings Training Institute, Massachusetts’ training partner for the rollout of the CSEFEL Train-the-Trainer and Coaches is now accepting applications for MASSACHUSETTS’ (MA) CSEFEL Pyramid Model Train-the-Trainers (Cohort 2).
This exciting, interdisciplinary initiative is made possible through an inter-agency partnership between the MA Office of Health and Human Services, the MA Department of Early Education and Care, the Center on the Social Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) (at Vanderbilt University) and Connected Beginnings Training Institute. The Train-the-Trainer sessions will take place on August 31, September 1, 2 and on September 28 and 29 at the Best Western Hotel and Trade Center in Marlborough, MA. An additional two-day training for CSEFEL Coaches will take place later in the fall.
This is an opportunity to obtain advanced training in the CSEFEL Pyramid Model and practices and to become a qualified CSEFEL Trainer and/or Coach. Priority will be given to applicants who:
- Work as Mental Health Consultants for the Regional EEC Mental Health Consultation grantees
- Work in SAMHSA (Mass LAUNCH and MYCHILD) funded projects
- Work for DPH (EI) Regional Consultation Teams
- Commit to providing CSEFEL training and/or coaching during the coming 14 months
- Complete their application on or before August 10, 2010.
As with the first cohort (FY’10) of MA CSEFEL Pyramid Model Trainers and Coaches, efforts will be made to ensure that cohort 2 represents all regions of the state, includes trainers/coaches from diverse infant and early childhood disciplines and program settings and builds statewide cultural and linguistic training capacity.
Please be aware that all applicants, whether you wish to be a CSEFEL Trainer or CSEFEL Coach, must attend all five days of the Train-the-Trainer event.
- As a Trainer, you agree to conduct a minimum of 15 hours of training on the material learned, before August 30, 2011. Orientation to Connected Beginnings’ new, 15-hour, MA CSEFEL Pyramid Model Curriculum* will be integrated into the Train-the-Trainer for Cohort 2. All materials are designed for ease of use and with practical applications and include a suggested agenda, list of materials needed, including video clips, trainer scripts, trainer PowerPoint slides, and participant handouts.
- As a Coach, you will identify at least one classroom or family child care home for which you will provide on-site mentoring and/or technical assistance and training to help staff adopt the CSEFEL Pyramid Model AND/ OR you will agree to work as a trainer/coach with Connected Beginnings Training Institute in the rollout of the new, 15-hour, MA CSEFEL Pyramid Model Curriculum* by offering 6 hours of follow-up group coaching, between October, 2010 and August, 2011.
* Connected Beginnings will contract with qualified Trainers/Coaches on an hourly basis to conduct the 15-hour, MA CSEFEL Pyramid Model Training and up to 6 hours of follow-up Coaching.
