CSEFEL Family Modules Facilitator Training to be held in June 2011

May 5, 2011 By

Connected Beginnings Training Institute, Massachusetts’ training partner for the roll-out of the state-wide Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) Pyramid Model Approach, is now accepting applications for Massachusetts’ first CSEFEL Family Modules Facilitator Training.

This two-day training is based on the evidence-based, user-friendly parent training series, designed by the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning at Vanderbilt University, to help professionals who work with parents promote positive and effective parenting skills, promote children’s social and emotional well-being and address behavior challenges.

CSEFEL Family Modules Facilitator Training will be held in Jamaica Plain, MA on June 8 and 9, 2011 and will:

  • Familiarize participants with the materials and resources created by CSEFEL to support parents and families;
  • Examine strategies that may be used to promote positive parent- child interactions and behavior in home and community settings;
  • Provide information about the essential role parents and other caregivers play in the Pyramid Approach;
  • Offer participants the opportunity to exchange information and ideas about engaging parents during home visits, groups, and in one-on-one discussions regarding the social-emotional and behavior support needs of their children.

CSEFEL Family Modules Facilitator Training is offered at no cost to participants through the generous support of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s LAUNCH and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ MYCHILD grants which are funded by the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Please note that attendance to this training is by invitation only. Please contact Mary Watson Avery, the Professional Development Specialist at Connected Beginnings, regarding eligibility for application to the CSEFEL Family Modules Facilitator Training. All applications must be submitted by May 13, 2011. Email notifications regarding application status will be sent the week of May 18th.

If you have any questions, please contact Mary Watson Avery at 617-879-1462 or via our contact form.
