Connected Beginnings Training Institute developed this 15-hour, 6-session, CEU-bearing course that is based upon the CSEFEL Infant, Toddler and Preschool Modules. The course also may include follow-up mentoring support for training groups.
Developed in 2010 with funding provided by the Massachusetts Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (MECCS) project, Foundations of the CSEFEL Pyramid Model was “rolled out” during 2010-11 with over 1,700 early education and care teachers, mental health consultants, program supervisors and administrators across the Massachusetts. Initially, this broad roll out has been accomplished with grant funding from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) and through fees paid by individuals and programs. Connected Beginnings has also been able to leverage its work with qualified CSEFEL trainers, registered as part of the Massachusetts trainer/coach cadre, to provide training and mentoring to a wide audience of providers from all regions of the state. Outreach and preliminary evaluation data indicate that the course has been warmly received and there is much enthusiasm on the part of participants and those who have not yet participated, to take the course and/or go deeper with the CSEFEL Pyramid Model.
The Foundations of the CSEFEL Pyramid Model course is a good introductory choice for professionals who work with infants and young children in a variety of roles and settings including:
- Providers who work with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers,
- Lead teachers, teachers, and assistant teachers,
- Family childcare providers,
- Head Start and Early Head Start providers,
- Home Visitors
- Early childhood teachers who work in public school settings,
- Early childhood administrators,
- Early Interventionists,
- Mental health clinicians and consultants who work with staff and families in infant, toddler and early childhood settings.
