This module will provide an overview of assessment with a specific focus on the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). Participants will examine the role of formative assessment and program assessment in early childhood settings and discuss the necessary knowledge and skills for conducting authentic, valid and reliable assessment processes. This beginner’s level training will introduce the Program assessment CLASS, specifically looking at its uses and components. Participants will be provided with a hands-on opportunity to learn about and further discuss this tool and its use. This course is offered through the Center for Assessment and Screening Excellence.
