Mary Watson Avery Selected as Faculty to Trauma-Informed Early Childhood and Care Systems Breakthrough Series Collaborative

July 25, 2013 By

In the coming year, Mary Watson Avery will be serving as faculty on the Boston Public Health Commission’s Defending Childhood Initiative, Trauma-Informed Early Childhood and Care Systems Breakthrough Series Collaborative. This effort is focused on working with multiple facets of Boston’s early education and care system to develop and implement practices, policies, and systems informed by a multi-level approach to better serve families effected by adversity and trauma. As a faculty member, Mary joins a diverse group of early childhood and mental health professionals, evaluators, community partners, and parents in order to promote practice focused on prevention, protection, healing, and thriving. The faculty will be involved in supporting and mentoring teams who have applied to participate from early childhood agencies, programs and schools across Boston.
