The IN-TIME series supports the research and science behind early learning, intervention and relationship-based infant mental health practices. It addresses the gap between what we know from brain research, and the role relationships between babies, parents/caregivers and Early Interventionists play in shaping a child’s development during her/his earliest years.
IN-TIME trainings are organized, administered and supported by staff of the Connected Beginnings Training Institute in Boston. The training series was developed by Libby Zimmerman, LICSW, PhD in 2004 in collaboration with Massachusetts Early Intervention providers. Since it’s development, IN-TIME has been presented across the Commonwealth, to more than 150 Early Intervention practitioners, program supervisors and administrators. Among the topics covered in the 30-hour series are: Early Brain Development, What Infants and Toddlers Bring to Relationships with Caregivers, What Caregivers Bring to the Relationships with Infants and Toddlers, What EI Practitioners Bring to Relationships with Caregivers and Infants, Screening and Assessment of Infant/Toddler Social Emotional Development, Exploring Parental Mental Health Challenges and Sources of Resilience, and The Influence of Culture in Shaping Caregiving Beliefs and Values.
CEUs for this training are available for Social Workers and Mental Health Clinicians, as are Early Intervention CECs.
