Babies imitate everything they see…right? Maybe not – especially if they are trying to avoid an angry adult. This study, highlighted in the October-December 2014 issue of Cognitive Development, investigated the capacity of 15-month olds to incorporate observed adult social interactions in their own behavior and emotional response. The findings provide interesting insight into the roots of executive functions in babyhood.
